Sahrudaya has formed many Self Help Groups in the backward areas of Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kottayam districts. These SHGs are engaged in different entrepreneurial projects. Sahrudaya is proud of coordinating the works of these 30 Kudumbashrees in the 10 coastal wards of Elamkunnapuza Panchayath providing training and empowerment for the rural women. 586 members from these 30 SHG’s are actively engaged in different social development activities especially among rural women, popularizing the motto-“Mutual Help, Mutual Trust and Solidarity”. We could see a wide range of income generation programmes among the SHGs functioning at Manappuram and Vallakom.
