Sahrudaya provides educational services to children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds through a comprehensive sponsorship program. This program operates in two distinct ways. The first is Holistic development of a child. This aspect of the program focuses on the overall growth and well-being of the children. It includes awareness classes and recreational activities conducted on the second Saturday of each month, celebrations with competitions, and an annual camp organized by Sahrudaya. These activities aim to nurture the physical, emotional, and social development of the children. Sahrudaya have 12 centres under this programme.

The second is Financial Aid for Higher Education. This component is dedicated to supporting children who aspire to pursue higher education by providing them with necessary financial assistance. This ensures that financial constraints do not hinder their academic ambitions and potential.Currently, nearly 500 children benefit from Sahrudaya’s educational sponsorship program, receiving the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Major programmes

  • Rajagiri Sahrudaya Student Sponsorship Project – The Rajagiri Sahrudaya Student Sponsorship Project is for communities near the centres or monasteries of SH Province. The students are selected by the approval of the priors or the vicar of each centres. At the time of school opening they are provided with school bags, umbrella, pouch etc. which necessary for the students to attended the school. The project does not stop after the distribution of the school items the project also considers the holistic development of each student. The students are required to attend theme based classes on second Saturday on their own respective centres. Along with classes the marks of each student in each exam are collected and analysed to know their improvements. There are festival celebrations for students and also summer camp at the end of an academic year.
  • Sahrudaya Santhwana Scholarship Program – The Sahrudaya Santhwana Scholarship Project, initiated in 2015, is a higher education initiative aimed at supporting students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who possess strong academic ambitions. The program was established through a collaboration between the Sahrudaya organization and the Santhwana Institute of Counselling and Psychotherapy, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for underprivileged youth. Each year, the Sahrudaya Santhwana Scholarship Project extends financial aid to up to 50 students pursuing professional education. This support is provided to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring that they can focus on their studies without the burden of financial stress. By selecting students in their first year, the program ensures that beneficiaries receive consistent support throughout the duration of their courses, thereby promoting academic stability and continuity.
  • Sahrudaya RCMAS Scholarship Project – The ‘SAHRUDAYA RCMAS SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT’ is a collaborative initiative between Sahrudaya Rajagiri and Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences, aimed at supporting the higher and professional educational aspirations of talented children from vulnerable backgrounds. The project endeavours to bridge the educational gap for these children by providing financial assistance, thereby enabling them to pursue their academic and career goals without the hindrance of economic constraints.
